The TIPI name was chosen for its universal significance to North America’s Indigenous People and its rich history. Based on the Lakota word for “dwelling,” the tipi is both a remarkably evolved shelter, as well as a symbol that embodies and embraces Indigenous values and spiritual teachings. As such, it has become a memorable carrier of identity, heritage, and tradition… and a suitable name and symbol for our aspirations.
Nathan is a member of Misipawistik Cree Nation at Grand Rapids, Manitoba. He holds an MBA and an Advanced Bachelor’s Degree in First Nations Governance from the University of Saskatchewan. He is bi-lingual and began his career working beside former Prime Minister Paul Martin as an investment analyst for Martin’s Capital for Aboriginal Prosperity and Entrepreneurship, or CAPE fund, in Montreal. Nathan is dual-licensed for both life insurance and property & casualty.
Janice L. Gladue is Cree from Sweetgrass First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory, Saskatchewan and has worked in the insurance industry for over a decade. Janice dedicated many years working with First Nations organizations and communities in the areas of strategy development, marketing and communications, economic development and finance. She specializes in supporting Aboriginal communities and corporate entities in the areas of risk management and insurance.
Kent has been in the property insurance field for over 20 years. His knowledge and expertise in the First Nations property and liability field is unparalleled in the country. He handles our business in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Rob Veito was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba, and is Metis. Rob is the Vice President of TIPI operations, and has shown great pride in helping build an Indigenous-owned insurance brokerage that employs Indigenous people and shares the wealth within our communities. Rob has more than 20 years of experience in the Insurance Industry. He enjoys travelling, playing and watching hockey, and listening to music.
Chris is a proud Red River Métis, who grew up in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. Now living in Winnipeg, Chris works out of the TIPI Insurance Partners head office.
Chris holds a CAIB (Canadian Accredited Insurance Brokers) designation and has been involved in insurance for over 15 years, and previously in banking. Chris has been with TIPI Insurance Partners for more than five years. Growing up in a northern community, Chris understand the uniqueness of doing business in the north.
Outside of work, Chris is involved in Minor Baseball, where he act as a convenor for the 11U Red River Valley Baseball League. He is also head coach of the 11U East End Wings. In the winter, Chris is the manager of the U11A3 Transcona Regents minor hockey team. He also enjoy playing music in a Dad band.
Connor grew up in The Pas, Manitoba. He attended University of Lethbridge where he received a bachelor’s of Finance degree, graduating with distinction.
Connor moved to Winnipeg in October of 2019 and began working at TIPI Group of Companies shortly after, where he is based out of the Winnipeg office.
Connor has worked in the insurance industry since 2014, focusing on Autopac and general insurance, gradually shifting to a finance role.
Outside of work, Connor enjoys golfing, playing hockey, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
With over 30 years in the business community, Donna brings experience in the Financial Services Industry, working for over 16 years in senior roles within the Credit Union System. Prior to joining the Insurance Services Industry as VP of Business Development and Strategic/Community Relations in 2015, Donna also held executive roles with the provincial government for over 10 years, working directly with the President’s Office.
Described as a dynamic, results oriented executive professional with a passion to help people, Donna is recognized for business excellence in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships to advance organizational goals and objectives.

Born and raised in Manitoba, Kevin is the Vice-President of Group Benefit Strategies for TIPI Insurance Partners. Kevin began his career in insurance in 2001 in Calgary, AB with Canada Life where he spent six years analyzing employee benefit plans. He returned to Winnipeg in 2007 to be closer to family and cottage life on the weekends.
After spending nearly 20 years with Canada Life in the employee benefits world, Kevin joined TIPI Insurance Partners to manage their benefit and pension block while also helping create new products and enhancing TIPI’s value proposition to their clients.
Dion is from Fisher River Cree Nation and currently resides in Stonewall, Manitoba. He works out of the TIPI Insurance Partners’ head office in Winnipeg.
Dion works in the area of Pension & Benefits, and is licensed under LLQP (Life License Qualification Program) with the provinces of Manitoba and Ontario. He provides retirement advice, assists with claims inquiries and pension transfers, advocate for clients, and more. Dion has been part of the TIPI Insurance Partners team since 2015.
Outside of work, Dion likes spending time with his family, playing basketball, and (as a movie buff) watching movies with his children and introducing them to his favourites.
Rob Ballantyne is is a member of Misipawistik Cree Nation. He is the Director of Trust Services at TIPI Group of Companies, and works in the TIPI Head Office in Winnipeg.
An Indigenous executive with over 30 years of experience, e obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary. He has held senior roles within corporate, Indigenous and government sectors. Throughout his career he has been committed to Indigenous development and has broad experience with reconciliation from many perspectives.
Arrianne is originally from the Philippines and is proud to call Canada her home since September 2022.
With over 8 years of international HR experience and more than a year's worth of Canadian experience, Arrianne brings a diverse perspective to her role as an HR professional.
When she’s not busy with HR duties, she enjoys moonlighting as a dog walker for her highly energetic dog, doing outdoor walks day and night. During her downtime, you'll often find her exploring the city or whipping up some cakes in the kitchen. On weekends, she spends quality time with her dogs and occasionally indulges in a good book at a cozy cafe or library.
Ren Baskin is originally from the Gitxsan Nation in Northwest BC, and has been living in Kelowna, BC for over 30 years.
Ren has been in the insurance industry for over 12 years, in both a service and sales capacity. He has been licensed for over 10 years and has extensive experience partnering with Indigenous Communities and organizations throughout BC with their Group Benefit, Group Retirement and Wellness Plans.
Outside of work, he is passionate about sports—especially volleyball and fastball-- and both plays and coaches. Ren also loves to travel, watch his son play college volleyball, and go for bike rides in sunny Kelowna.
Kerri was born and raised in Winnipeg. Beginning her insurance career in 2009, Kerri obtained her CAIB designation in 2014 along side her mom. Holding various positions in the industry from an Auto Only broker, Personal Lines broker, Commercial Account Executive and most recently a Commercial Property Underwriter she joins TIPI Group of Companies as Marketing Broker.
Outside the office Kerri is a proud mom of two! Kerri is heavily involved in Baton Twirling as the Vice-Chairperson for Manitoba Baton Sportive Association, but often seen in the bleachers cheering on her daughter. She is also, involved with Scouting as the Treasurer of her son’s group. In the summer you will find her enjoying the lake with her family in Sandy Hook.
Roy is a proud member of the Poundmaker Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. He grew up in Prince Albert and Saskatoon, where he also went to the University of Saskatchewan. Roy spent nine years working at the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations in Lands and Resources and later in Health & Social Development. His diverse work experience also includes terms with both the Affinity Credit Union, the Parole Board of Canada, and as a political and policy advisor in Ottawa. Volunteerism has also a key part of Roy's personal development, as he was a council member with the Red Cross and he did a term on the Saskatchewan Board of the CNIB.
Prior to working with TIPI-IMI, Roy worked with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) for five years, first in Corporate Affairs and then concluding the final two years as the Human Resources Manager at the Living Sky Casino in Swift Current.
Roy Bluehorn comes from a strong background in government relations and communications. He has worked for TIPI Insurance Partners for over six years as an Account Executive where he specializes in Group Benefits and Group Pensions.
In his spare time Roy enjoys cycling and watching the Edmonton Oilers.
Denae is a Métis woman who manages underwriting processes including reports and database management. She prepares and communicates new and renewal business submissions and endorsements. Her duties include checking for accuracy and delivering quotes to our producers.
Denae grew up in The Pas, Manitoba before moving to Winnipeg in 2009 to start her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Winnipeg. Started working at TIPI right after graduating in 2014 and has since completed her CAIB designation.
Dillon is a member of Roseau River First Nation and lives in Winnipeg. He was been employed by TIPI Insurance Partners since September 2021 and works out of the Winnipeg Office. His main responsibility is helping Producers with renewals and applications.
Dillon has a general insurance license and has been working in insurance since 2016. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba.
On Dillon's downtime, he likes to see the latest movies in theaters, play video games and watch Survivor. He also likes to coach and play Team Handball.
Melanie is Status from Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve. She grew up in The Pas, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg in 2014. Melanie has been with TIPI Insurance Partners since 2017 and works out of the Winnipeg office.
Before joining the TIPI Insurance Partners team, Melanie was a plan administrator for group benefits and pension for over 12 years with previous employers. Now, she is the Client Services Manager with TIPI Insurance Partners, with focus on Group Insurance Benefits, where she oversees the Client Services team.
Melanie is a wife, mother of three adult children, and “Lovie” to her one grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family and best friends, and traveling.
Norine Cacciatore (née Stewart) is Ojibway from North Caribou Lake Band and currently lives in Lake Country, British Columbia. Norine works in Alberta and British Columbia for TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners.
Norine has worked in the Insurance Industry since 2007 and has been working with First Nations organizations exclusively since 2011. She joined TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners in 2017. Norine strives to make a difference in the lives of First Nations and Indigenous people through her work with Group Insurance and Pension.
Outside of work, you will find Norine at a Yoga Class or golfing.
Patricia is from Okanese First Nation, Saskatchewan, Treaty 4 Territory and currently lives and works out of TIPI's office in The Pas, Manitoba.
Patricia is fully licensed and provides support in the Individual Investment Products division of TIPI. She recently completed with distinction her certification in the University College of the North – Aboriginal and Northern Counselling Skills.
Patricia has been with the TIPI Group of Companies since 2019 and says time flies when you’re having fun.
She spends most of her time with her family and four grandchildren. She also loves to take photos, bead, going to the lake and camping, travelling and watching her grandchildren in their extracurricular activities.
Tyler is status from Opaskwayak Cree Nation - 315, Treaty 5 Territory. Born and raised in The Pas, Tyler joined the TIPI family in July 2022 and works in the TIPI Insurance Partners’ office in The Pas.
Tyler is fully licensed and works an Account Executive with our Pension & Benefits team. In his time away from work, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and two children when he isn’t on the golf course.
Sheri was born and raised in rural Manitoba, an hour north of Winnipeg. After living in The Pas for eight years, Sheri moved her family (including her two daughters) closer to home, where she is able to live in the country and work out of TIPI Insurance Partner’s Winnipeg office.
Sheri is licensed general insurance broker (CAIB) and has worked in the insurance industry for more than 17 years. After working in the property and casualty sector within TIPI Insurance Partners, she had the pleasure of broadening her work experience by transitioning into the accounting department to work as an Accounting Clerk.
Sheri started working with Cook & Cooke Insurance in The Pas in 2004 and began working for First Commercial Brokers in 2010, which later became TIPI Insurance Partners.
Sheri is a huge fan of physical movement of any kind. Her family likes to go on bike rides, long walks, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter, and she recently tried out fat biking. Her husband is a runner and is constantly trying to get her into that sport, but Sheri says she is not sure her joints would be able to handle it, but she is slowly giving it a shot. She also enjoys reading (her favorite author is Nora Roberts, aka JD Robbs) and eating anything that she don’t have to cook for myself.
Coralee grew up in Cranbrook, BC and holds a Group Benefits Associate (GBA) accreditation.
She is an Insurance Policy Analyst with over 19 years of experience as a Group Benefits professional. Today Coralee uses her knowledge and experience to assist her colleagues by focusing on working with the insurance partners and carriers to seek options for coverage that meet the needs of our clients.
Sherri Lynn is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation in Saskatchewan and currently lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Having been united with her birth family three years ago, her heart is full having an opportunity to build a bond with her brothers, aunts, uncles and 44 first cousins.
Sherri Lynn works out of the TIPI Insurance Partner’s Winnipeg head office.
Sherri Lynn obtained her Life Insurance Agent License for the Provinces of Manitoba, British Columbia, Ontario, and North West Territories.
She has had the pleasure of working as a Service Representative for a few years and absolutely loved visiting many First Nations Communities across Canada to educate staff on group benefits and pension. She wanted to expand her professional experience in sales and make the transition over to the TIPI Insurance Partners Team in October of 2020.
Sherri Lynn has been part of the TIPI Insurance Partners team for over a year now and absolutely loves it.
Outside of work, Sherri Lynn enjoys reading, journaling and going on long walks and hikes. On weekends she looks forward to packing up her car and going on adventures to many of the fantastic destinations we have in Canada.
Marcia is from and currently lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and her family is from Little Saskatchewan.
Marcia was working as a sales manager for a bridal salon in the city when she realized her interest for accounting and payroll. Marcia eventually went to Red River College and earned a Diploma in Applied Accounting. After Graduating in 2012, she started working with a small local Indigenous designer in the Accounting and Payroll field. From there she ended up working with the Winnipeg Winter Club, in HR, Payroll, and Accounting for nearly six years.
Marcia joined the TIPI Group of Companies in August 2020. The company corporate culture, and interests aligned with her own, and she found it to be a natural fit to bring her skills to this wonderful team.
Marcia enjoys movies, music, art, and local fashion designers. She has a teenage son, and enjoys tobogganing, fishing, swimming, hiking, and biking with him. At home, Marcia loves to explore in the kitchen and is always willing to try a new recipe.
Kendra grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and currently works out of the TIPI head office in Winnipeg.
After obtaining an English degree from South Dakota State University, Kendra moved back to Winnipeg where she worked various administration jobs before joining the Recruitment Legacy Bowes in 2019. In December 2022, she transitioned to the Marketing & Communications department for TIPI Group of Companies, bringing her exceptional communications skills and zest for creative projects to the role.
Outside of work, you can find Kendra curled up with a book or exploring the outdoors with her family.
Donald was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, joined the Group Pension team as a Pension Service Representative.
Donald has years of experience working as a client and digital services representative for RBC, and experience as a customer service representative at Manitoba Blue Cross, and now applies his depth of knowledge as a Pension Service Representative for clients on the Pension & Benefits team.
Outside of work, Donald enjoys DIY projects, ranging from writing, woodwork, cosplay, and dabbling in voiceover work.
Lucy is Oji-Cree and is a member of Berens River First Nation. She was employed by TIPI Insurance Partners in December 2021 and works as a Care Plan Analyst for Group Benefits plans.
Lucy brings with her over seven years of experience in the insurance industry and is currently working towards earning her CEBS designation.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, baking, playing video games and travelling.
Rhonda is a member of the Fisher River Cree Nation in Manitoba. She joined the TIPI Insurance Partners team in 2022.
In 2020 she completed the Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator (CAPA) program receiving the (CAPA) designation from the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association (AFOA), and in 2014 completed the Human Resource Management Diploma Program/Management Certificate at the University of Winnipeg. She attained her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba in Native Studies in 2005.
For over 10 years, she has been a Registered Professional Trainer (RPT) Certified Facilitator with the Institute of Professional Management based in Ottawa.
In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, concerts, Winnipeg Blue Bomber games, Winnipeg Jets hockey, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
Christine’s entire career has been spent in the financial services industry. She has been licensed as a life agent since 1988. Christine worked as a life and general insurance agent before joining Canada Life, as a Financial Advisor, followed by 21 years as a Pension Account Executive and Educator with Group Retirement Services. She has worked extensively in the Indigenous market promoting new business and education of pension plan members.
Christine has obtained the Chartered Financial Planner, and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations as well as completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) and Professional Financial Planning Course (PFP).
Following her retirement with Canada Life in December 2017 Christine joined TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners as a Pension Account Executive, focusing on the TIPI Pension Plan. Recently she completed the Indigenous Canada Course through the University of Alberta.
Keegan is a member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. He is a licensed property & casualty broker having acquired his Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation in 2014.
Keegan has 10 years experience working in the insurance industry, mostly with property and casualty insurance. He started his career working at his family’s owned business, Lafond Insurance, in Saskatoon. From there he went on to work with other brokerages before joining TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners in August 2020.
When he is not working, Keegan is mostly spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. He can often be found golfing, watching sports, or playing hockey.
Jennifer is from Mathias Colomb Cree Nation (Pukatawagan), MB.
Most of Jennifer’s career has been spent in the education field. She worked in Pukatawagan, Opaskwayak Cree Nation and in Winnipeg. Jennifer joined TIPI Insurance Partners in May 2022.
Jennifer loves being with family, travelling, meeting new people, learning about other cultures, being outdoors, listening to music, fishing, reading, writing, and photography.
Kimberley Marnock grew up in The Pas, MB. She currently holds a GBA1 and is working towards a Group Benefit Associate and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation. Kimberley has over 12 years of experience and is a Senior Member Service Representative in the Group Insurance and Group Pension Department of TIPI. Outside of work, Kimberley is a spouse, a hockey mom and owns two quirky hound dogs.
Lauren was born and raised in Manitoba. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from the Asper School of Business, and majored in Human Resources and Supply Chain Management. She is currently a CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) candidate with CPHR Manitoba. Lauren grew her HR practice in manufacturing and child welfare before joining the TIPI Group of Companies in 2020.
Outside of work you may find Lauren at a yoga class, out with her rescue dog or at the lake with her family.
Sherry has 12 years of experience as a receptionist and holds a diploma in Business Administration.
Sherry has been with the TIPI Group of Companies since 2020, first working with Legacy Bowes and then transferring to TIPI Insurance Partners to work in the disability department.
Outside of work, you will find Sherry spending time with her husband, two dogs, and their grandchildren.
Andrew was born and raised in The Pas, Manitoba and currently works from home in Lake Country, BC.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2015 from the University of Manitoba, Andrew moved to BC. After spending a few years in the lumber industry Andrew transitioned into group benefits and life insurance and is now a licenced LLQP.
Andrew hopes to bring his energy and experience to work for the TIPI Group of Companies and build on the organization's already stellar reputation. Outside of work Andrew enjoys hiking, running, photography, and cold plunging.
Henry was born and raised in Saddle Lake Cree Nation. He holds two licenses, SK. Level 3 and AB. Level 1. Henry is an Account Executive with 17 years of knowledge and experience working with First Nations and settlements. After work Henry enjoys golfing and spending time at the gym.
Nancy grew up in Brandon, Manitoba, lived in Toronto area for a period of time, and moved back to Manitoba with her two sons. With more than 20 years of experience in administration, Nancy has had the great opportunity to work in many fields from being a personal executive assistant to an office manager, and everything in between. She has also worked in the area of desktop publishing, which she found both enjoyable and challenging.
Nancy has been with TIPI Insurance Partners for two years and enjoys the variety of challenges her position holds.
Outside of work, Nancy enjoys spending time with her family and binge-watching Netflix. Her goal is to retire and live somewhere warm and beautiful.
Eric works from the Saskatoon office, but he is based out of Battleford, Saskatchewan, on an acerage with his partner and horses.
Eric has been in the insurance industry for 30 years. For 28 of those years, he has worked with Indigenous clients, who he says are continually an inspiration.
Eric has been with TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners for more than four years and he has enjoyed every moment. A few of Eric's passions include music, poetry, and hosting heart circles, where he can tell and listen to stories.
Don was born in Saskatoon and lived in Kelowna, Prince Albert, Regina, before moving to Candle Lake, Saskatchewan, where he currently works remotely for TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners.
Don became an Insurance Adjuster in 1978 for the Co-operators and joined Shindelka & Associates as an adjuster in 1981, becoming a manager in 1984. In 1986, he sold Shindelka & Associates and became Provincial Manager for Crawford and Company Adjusters, a position I had until 2000.
In 2000, Don became a commercial Insurance Broker for Cherry Insurance in their Prince Albert Office. In 2008, he moved to Kelowna to ran Kelowna Valley Insurance for four years before heading to Valley First and then off to Knight Archer Insurance in 2015 at the Regina head office.
In late 2018, Don joined the TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners team to help build relations and provide expert service to existing and new customers and owners. He has his CAIB Honors, has twice served as president of Saskatchewan Association of Insurance Adjusters, and was the chair of the Prince Albert Chamber of Commerce in 2006. Don has also served on the Insurance Brokers Association Board.
Don and his wife enjoy boating, snowmobiling, walking in the woods, fishing, and playing games like chess and cribbage. They are long-time members of the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association and of the Candle Lake Snow Drifters.
Cody is from the Fisher River Cree Nation and works out of the Winnipeg Head Office. After graduating from Red River College and obtaining a diploma in Business Administration, Cody was quickly invited to join TIPI Insurance Partners in 2013.
Over the years, he has taken on a few roles in the company, such as Special Projects Coordinator, Account Coordinator, and eventually an Account Executive after obtaining his P&C license.
Outside of the office, Cody enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, reading, taking in a game of golf when possible, and he always finds time to play basketball.
Kierra grew up on Fisher River Cree Nation, and works as a Client Service Representative for our Pension & Benefits division.
Kierra received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Therapy from the University of Winnipeg and is a Certified Athletic Therapist, and works as a Client Service Representative on the Pension & Benefits team.
Outside of work, in the winter you will find her working as a field Athletic therapist with a local hockey team. In summer, she enjoys being outside with family either camping or watching softball.
Deidre is originally from Thunderchild First Nation, and works as a Client Service Representative for our Pension & Benefits team.
Deidre has two beautiful children -- an eight-year old daughter and a four-year old son. Deidre says they are the main reason her spirit loves to stay young at heart.
She enjoys birthday parties, family gatherings, going for walks in nature, and listening to a variety of different genres of music. She also enjoys food trucks and anything chocolate dipped!
Melissa Walterson is a member of Pasqua First Nation. Melissa grew up in Lake Francis, Manitoba, and has lived in Winnipeg for the last 25 years.
Melissa’s career in the insurance industry began in 1998. She is licensed in Life and Accident & Sickness in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, and is currently working on her licensing for Yukon.
Melissa previously served a variety of roles at TIPI Insurance Partners since 2018, including Client Service Specialist and Account Executive, and has recently stepped into the role of Director, Economic, Strategic & Community Relations with the TIPI Group of Companies.
Outside of work, you can find Melissa indulging in retail therapy with her daughters and getting together with friends.
